Suggest Treatment For Red Spots With Itching All Over The Body

A few days ago, I noticed this red spot on the back of my calf and the next day I noticed one around the same spot on the opposite leg. These two are a deep red, about the size of a pencil eraser is round. I have been noticing more pinkish red bumps on my belly as well as my back. I m not sure if it s my imagination or what, but I m starting to itch on my back with a little tingling too. At first glance of the bump on each leg, I brushed this off as some sort of a bite from a possible Spider that didn titch or tingle, but the other bumps seem to be more like a rash possibly or maybe singles, but not sure. They seem to be itchy and tingling under the skin. In these places, there are no bumps or red bumps present. I hope this is helpful in letting me know what this is. I also feel no pain, as I am taking pain medicine for another reason. If for some reason you think this is shingles, what should I expect and for how long? Also, how should this be treated? Thank you! Tina

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having either allergic dermatitis or papular urticaria.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
