Suggest Treatment For Red Rash On Cheeks

Hi I applied a really strong toothpaste called arm and hammer to my face last night to try eliminate spots. Today I woke up with a huge red rash on my cheek that stings badly and looks like it has been badly burnt. I have applied aloe Vera and cicaplast to it but they also sting a little. I am so concerned I have done serious damage/scaring to my skin. Is there anything I can do to heal it?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

You have developed 'Irritant Dermatitis' to the home remedies that you have been trying.

I would suggest you to wash your face with just plain water OR you could use a gentle cleanser e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.

If I was the treating doctor I would suggest you to use a topical moderately potent steroid cream e.g fluticasone propionate (Flutivate cream), twice daily for a few days. That should take care of the redness and burning sensation.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would help in providing symptomatic relief from burning and itching.

regards
