Suggest Treatment For Red Raised Patches On Lower Legs

My husband has large red, raised patches on his lower legs. They ooze and are really pussy all the time. He went to the doctor and they gave him a cream and it didn t help at all. It s been over two months and not only are they not going away they are getting worse. What could they be? They are all pretty large. Bigger then a quarter. Also he is now getting a rash on both his arms. Small red bumps. Could it be related? He s never had any prior skin conditions. We are not aware of any allergies and he has changed anything or used any new products since they showed up. Also, I should mention he had a really severe sunburn on his legs and one of the spots appeared a little bit after he had the burn. The doctor said it had nothing to do with the sunburn but I m really not so sure. He says they re also really itchy and burn really bad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Oral medication is likely needed at this stage to use in combination with the cream especially if the rash is worsening.

He needs a course of oral antibiotics and possibly a short course of oral steroids to reduce the inflammation.

He should either re visit his doctor or visit another doctor for a second opinion.

I hope this helps
