Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps And Cranker Sores On The Upper Lip

I have a small pin size red bump on the inside of my upper lip. It s right on the border of where my lip ends and my mouth begins. I get canker sores but I am very concerned that this could be a cold sore because it s technically on my lip. It doesn t really hurt unless I put pressure on it. I have had no sexual contact but my parents get cold sores. I m super careful, no kissing, skin contact or sharing of any items. But I m worried that maybe they touched something then I touched it without knowing it and now I have a cold sore. If they touch say a plate then I touch that same plate. Can I get cold sores that way?

Welcome to HCM..

As per your complain it seems that the red bump on the lip at the margin of outer and inner lip can be due to causes a Mucous cyst or Mucocele while can also be due to causes like Hematoma or a Hemangioma..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like FNAC if needed can be done to rule out the cause and treatment will be done accordingly..

Treatment will be done as per the cause..
In case if there is Mucocele formation, it generally resolves gradually on its own and in case if it does not improve then surgical excision is advised..
Hematoma is self limiting and resolves on its own..
In case of Hemangioma application of sclerosing agents or surgical removal can help..
