Suggest Treatment For Red Blotches On Kids Body
My 21 month Old son has suddenly come out in a really blotchy rash, I thought it was chicken pox at first as they started out as spots, now they are mostly massive red blotches, as though he has been hit with something or scalded.. it is not on his face, just his torso down? He also seems well in himself apart from last night he was screaming and crying for about 2 hours, but today he is fine.

By what you quote it should be an urticarial or a simple skin allergy. You can use Hydroxyzine at 1-2mg/kg/dose every 6th to 8th hourly for 7-10 days. Most important thing to be remembered is that it has a propensity to recur (called as second crop) within 10-14 days. If this happens, you can start using the same medicine but I suggest you get the kid evaluated with your paediatrician.
Skin conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.
