My husband went to the hospital ER monday, with swollen red painful right leg, ultra sound revealed no clot, but was told he has celliites. received antibiotics iv, the leg has decreased in swelling, redness has decreased, but the foot is still swollen. Is this normal. He was sent home with antibiotics and has an appt, on mon. With regards Dr.

It may take several weeks till cellulitis subside completely so you need to be patient. He should finish antibiotic course and then if there is still swelling he should repeat ultrasound and check heart function.
