Suggest Treatment For Red And Inflamed Wound On Leg

I have a puncture wound in my leg and it has just gone red and a clear/yellow fluid weeps out, it has just inflamed and gone red and itchy I m overseas so can t get to my local doctor and I have been advised to put diprogenta on it Would this work as my leg is still an open wound

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Puncture wound can get infected with infectious agents in the environment.
Inflammation and redness around the puncture site is suggestive of infection.
Since, the wound is open (punctured), it is obvious for fluid to ooze out.
Diprogenta is a steroid preparation and steroid preparation is not appropriate if the puncture wound is infected.
Instead an antibiotic ointment will be of help in controlling infection.
Thus, dressing of the wound with antibiotic ointment is suggested initially.
Consultation with a primary healthcare provider may be done for clinical assessment of the wound.
