Suggest Treatment For Recurring Vomiting And Frequent Semi Solid Stools In A Toddler
My son is was vomitting 4-5 times from last 1-2 days, and also passing stool 5-6 times a day, today vomiting has stopped by he is passing semi solid stool 3-4 times today....can enterogermina help if yes what should be the dose. He is 2 years and 4 months old
The most common cause of acute vomiting and diarrhea is infection of the gastrointestinal tract with viral infection being more common.
The main aspect of management is the prevention or treatment of dehydration. This means that he should be given small amounts of fluid continuously. If he is given a large amount initially then this may induce vomiting , so sips of approximately 1 tsp to 1 tbs every few minutes should be the initial amount given.
If this is tolerated ,then it can be increased in small increments. Pedialyte or another oral rehydration packet should be used.
Hold off solid foods till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms but make sure he is well hydrated.
Probiotics such as the enterogermina mentioned can help.
I hope this helps
