Pediatrician 's  Response
The repeated use of antibiotics does not help the child to develop his own immunity; in fact, this may harm his defense response irreparably. Try and avoid giving augmentin again and again. Unfortunately, the only permanent cure to this kind of problem is growing up. As the child grows older, he develops the immunity needed to avoid the repeated attacks of throat infection. At the same time, do take him to a good, very good ENT surgeon to take a look at his throat and tonsils. A very few children actually need removal of tonsils to give them lasting cure.
