Suggest Treatment For Recurring Post Nasal Drip, Headaches And Chest Congestion

I am suffering for one week from post nasal drip, headaches, chest congestion, coughing. Feeling of pressure in the lower left side of back of head with pain at that point. After a visit to urgent care was given amnicef antibiotic, cough med. zyrtec and nasal spray to use, after 5 days felt no relief, back to urgent care for a steroid prescription of Medrol dose pak. After one day taking sterroid felt great yesterday, today all symptoms are back. I have never smoked, never had chest congestion, basically in good health. Take no meds, except for occasional statin, and am 125 lb. 68 yr.old female. What are your general thoughts on this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Post nasal drip can be related to allergies or acute infection such as the common cold.

The symptoms would not regress completely, so even though you felt better yesterday, there may be some variation in symptoms.

You should continue to use the medications as prescribed, it take 1 to 2 weeks for resolution.

I hope this helps
