Suggest Treatment For Recurring Hepatic Flexure Polyp

I have one hepatic flexure polyp that they removed in may 2013 . they did another colonscopy in August and the same spot came back the same but at the one in may I was in the hospital because they cut so deep in the wall and was quite sick. Now they want to do another one but I am scared I will end up in the hospital again. Also if it comes back the same they want to remove one third of my colon.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of recurrent polyp in the hepatic flexture of colon, the first was removed in 2013, another one in August but the cut was deep hence had to be admitted.
What you have not mentioned is the size of the polyp and the biopsy report.
If it is pre-malignant or malignant, you have to get the part of the colon removed as this may be a cancer and may be curative as well.
Please post the reports of biopsy.
Consult another Surgeon for a second opinion and follow the advise stringently.
I hope this answer helps you in decision making.
