Suggest Treatment For Recurring Diarrhea

What is thedosage for diahrea. I am 73years old? I am traveling, but have had diahrea onand off for months. I suffer from food intolerance and have had IBS. I wouldlike to know how much I can take and for how long. I also suffer from bouts of gallbladder.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Chronic diarrhea is commonly due to irritable bowel syndrome or associated malabsorption.
2. You need to watch your diet, as to which food is causing more diarrhea. You need to avoid it. Avoid spicy or sour food as it can cause gastritis and increase motility. Try to go for specific carbohydrate diet. It could help you. Stool examination is necessary. Nutritional correction through protein and vitamin supplements should be helpful.
3. In chronic diarrhea, need to watch out for water and electrolyte imbalances. If you do not have hypertension, you can increase water intake along with oral rehydration salts.
4. Need to get a an ultrasound to evaluate cause of gall bladder pain. At this age, stone or tumor requires evaluation.
