Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection

I have had a recurring UTI infection since 2/16/15. (It s 5/11/15) about 3 months. Treatments 1) Ciproflaxin 500mg 2x/day x 7 days. Did not go away. Around 3/4/15 a low cost clinic gave me Nitrofurantoin Monohyd Mac 100 2x/day for 7 days. Still did not go away. Returned to clinic on 3/26/15 they then gave me Rocephyn ( shot) plus Doxyclycline AND Metronidazole for 7 days. It completely depleted my body and seemed to go away then came back again. I am now on a perscription for Trimethoprim since 5/8/15 which it also seems resistant to. In your opinion what would be next steps? Will this ever go away? What happens if left untreated (besides pain)?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .You have been diagnosed to have recurrent UTI and was treated with various antibiotics for over last 3 months .

It seems that all the antibiotics were prescribed without doing urine culture .It is likely that the causative organisms may not be sensitive to the antibiotics that were being prescribed .

You need to get Urine culture done to trace out the organisms causing this infection repeatedly so that you can take appropriate antibiotics as per culture report .

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis to rule out urinary stone ,

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
