Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Shingles

I had shingles several years ago. It cleared up, but every now and then it seems to come back. Not the red bumps crusted over, just pinprick spots where the shingles appeared then. It is mildly painful, but mostly on my side and hip. The band of my underwear and pants really bother me. It seems to come back about every month and last from 2 days to a week. What can I do?

I didn't know there was a fee or I would not have submitted the question. If I have to pay, might as well see my doctor. Copay is less than you want.
