Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I suggest a possibility of Scarlet rash/ fever. The causative organism being streptococcal sore throat. Throat infection can easily get transmitted to others through respiratory route, specially close contacts in family. There may be fever, sore throat and a red rash that usually affect the face as well as rest of the body. Rash is due to a toxin that is produced by this strep. A confirmed streptococcal sore throat infection should be treated with penicillin group of oral antibiotics for a week. Treatment of rash is symptomatic. Topically you may use a soothing cooling lotion e.g calamine. An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine syp will provide symptomatic relief from itching. I suggest that you take them to a doctor for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as appropriate prescription.
