Suggest Treatment For Rashes And Cut On Tongue
Hi, I keep developing a rash/cut/rawness on the left side of my tongue (the part that rubs against the inside of my teeth, and it causes me extreme discomfort. I m really unsure why this happens, when it does it s constantly in the exact same part of my tongue. The only explanation I can think of is possibly being run down/tired from lack of sleep or excessive drinking or stress. It only seems to happen during one of these situations. Any help would be appreciated as it s becoming a more persistent problem.

Thanks for your query . The rash or cut you mention in query occurring due to sharp point on the tooth. Sometimes the small part of tooth specially from the cusp area chip off during chewing hard thing . That form a sharp end on the tooth which impinges in to surface of tongue and cause rash or sometimes cut .
When you are drunk or tired the alertness level become low due to which your keep touching or rubbing your tongue with the shap end on tooth.
I would suggest you to visit dentist for proper examination and treatment . There are few treatment options available for dentist .
- If the chipped part is very small the dentist will grind the sharp end with bur and make it smooth so that it will not interfere with tongue movement .
- If the chipped of part is bigger the there is option of restoration. Dentist will restore it with the the help of post and core or with a composite build over with or without pin.
For now avoid drinking and take proper rest , because cut will make a space for infection which can complicate the situation. Do betadine rinses 2-3 times a day .
