Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a little lump on my head which has been there for a couple of years now. not caused any pain until just recently, think i must have caught it with hairbrush as sharp bit on it like it got cut. now it is sore so i tried squeezing it and loads of smelly puss came out. There is still a hard bit in middle which wont come out and head around it is really tender
Thanks for posting this question on HCM! I appreciate your concern for the lump on your head. I am of the opinion that the lump on your head is due to infected sebaceous cyst. As the lump had been there for a couple of years now it is because of the infection (which might have been caused by injury while using hair brush) it increased in size and became painful.
You are advised to consult a surgeon for proper assessment and the treatment in the form of drainage and surgical excision of the entire cyst. Kindly get your fasting blood sugar and other routine investigations done. Regards!
