I play tennis outside in florida where the weather is humid and hot. I noticed a boil (I think) pop up in between my leg. It is red and is beginning to hurt a bit. I don t see any puss or a head of sorts. So wondering what medication I can use. I have washed it with warm water several times per day but it remains. What ointment can I use??? I had one before but for the life of me I do not remember what was perscribed.
I have noted your complaints and concerns and have arrived at the following plan of action:
1 You seem to be having folliculitis which is a bacterial infection resulting in localized bumps containing pus with features of pain and swelling.
2 The topical medicines that work best for my patients of this condition are Mupirocin and Fusidic acid
3 Oral Amoxy-Clav combinations invariable provide excellent results and nearly immediate relief from symptoms
4 Analgesics and anti inflammatory drugs like Brufen also play a beneficial role but they need to be given only in some cases where pain and swelling are considerable; 5 It is advisable to take multivitamins or Lactobacillus preps as antibiotics change the normal bacteria of the gut which needs to be taken care of to ward off GIT upsets.
I am very sure that this suggestion will be found helpful. Best wishes
