Suggest Treatment For Purplish Swollen Labia Minora And Small Bumps

Right Labia minora is purple-ish, swollen, and has small bumps on the edge/top? My dog was biting down there (while I was asleep) and I woke up shooed him away, and I noticed it was bleeding a little.. So now, 3 months later it s still there... I can t go to the doctor either. I m going to tell my mom I itched down there LOL. But what can I do to make it go away! Peroxide?

Hello,

As the dog hurt you, it might be the case that some blood vessel in the labia majora was ruptured spilling blood and it is presenting as purplish discolor. If you are not having pain, you can wait for it to disappear on its own.

The small bumps, if painless, might indicate presence of cyst, which is very common in the area. Unless it causes you pain, discomfort or any other symptoms, they are left there untreated and removed surgically only if they develop symptoms.

However, I would advise you to go to a gynecologist for a physical examination as it requires physical examination of the area to confirm both diagnosis.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
