Suggest Treatment For Pressure Behind Nose And Loss Of Taste

I had an upper respiratory infection and a sinus infection in June. After 3 weeks of caling the doctor and finally seeing the doctor I was put on an antibiotic for two weeks. The respiratory infection cleared and it seems like the sinus infection cleared for the most part. I have lost my ability to taste most foods except spicey foods. I can breathe fine and have no signs of a sinus infection except I feel pressure directly behind the middle of my nose almost like you might feel after enhaling water while swimming. There is no dripping, sneezing, etc. Please advise.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you are relieved from other symptoms of sinusitis but the symptoms of pressure in the back of nose along with loss of smell seems to be due to sinus congestion and you need to take care of it as there can be causes like fluid accumulation or polyps in the sinuses..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers like Motrin, decongestants like Phenylephrine, saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
Avoid chilled foods and airconditioned atmosphere..
