Suggest Treatment For Pneumonia

Hi, my son is 4yrs 8months. He used to get frequent colds, coughs and pneumonia since two years. Early this year he was diagnosed with Pneumonia twice and was put on Ventolin inhaler and Budecort. Since he started this medication, he does not get frequent infections meaning no much fevers and urgent hospitalization. Whenever he has a cough or cold, I give him the puffs and he gets back to school. However, although I feel relieved, I am concerned if I should continue with this therapy or should consult the doctor whenever he gets these colds and flu with no fever. Thanks.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. First I want to alley your fears regarding your kid -
1. By what you quote it could not be frequent pneumonia and It could be either multi triggered wheeze or episodic viral wheeze.
2. If it is first time, no harm in using asthalin orally as it gives good relief.
3. Asthalin or any of the medications used for wheezing in any route either oral or inhalational do not cause dependency or make the patient prone for asthma. Actually its the other way round.

I suggest you follow your doctor as there is symptomatic improvement and please continue the therapy.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
