Suggest Treatment For Placenta Praevia

Hi I was 10 weeks when diagnosed by complete placenta previa, got another ultrasound on my 13th week and still same. My dr told me that i shouldnt be worrying because there is a chance that it will migrate. I am 16 weeks now and set to have a 16 hrs flight from Philippines to Sweden on my 20 weeks (4 weeks from now) due to very important family matter and will come back when im in 25 week. My dr allowed me to take that trip and said that as long as i get extra care i shouldnt be worrying,,,I have been doing a lot of research in the net and its very confusing for me since some say no and others say okay... what shall I do? pls help me...

Hello,
The diagnosis of placenta praevia is made after the 28th week of pregnancy and not earlier. So, you need not worry about a low-lying placenta in early pregnancy as this is a common finding. The placenta usually ascends up as the uterus enlarges. If your doctor has permitted you to take the trip, please go ahead. Though travelling by train is supposed to be the best, and air travel has the risk of varying pressures in the intra-uterine cavity, your consultant is the better judge. Take reclining position and elevate the feet during travel, take off and landing. Hope this helps.
