Suggest Treatment For Pinched Nerve In The Neck

I was prescribed tizanidine when I had a piched nerve in my neck. My wife has what seems to be some nerve pain in her butt caused by a back problem. Can she take this medication? It was prescribed to be taken at bedtime, which is when she has her symptoms that keep her from sleeping. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant and should help to relieve some of her discomfort.

If she has no history of allergic reaction to it or has previously used it with no problems, then she can use it.
She may want to consider combining it with a pain killer for maximum effect .

Eg naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam.

I hope this helps
