Hi, Welcome to HCM, I had gone through your history and understand your concern, A pilonidal cyst or sinus is a cyst in the lowest part of the vertebral column or in tailbone area. It may contain inside hair or skin remnants. Treatment is surgery under local anesthesia. Usually there is no connection between the cyst and neurological symptoms. However there are isolated cases reported of sacral or lumbar osteomyelitis and epidural abscess as a complication of pilonidal cyst. I suggest you to discus with your Doctor the possibility of plain radiographs of your lumbosacral column. I also suggest to treat the cyst surgically, it is a simple procedure under local anesthesia.
