Suggest Treatment For Pilonidal Cyst

I am suffering with what I assume to be a pilonidal cyst, I have read the surgery can be quite extensive and am due to fly to Spain on August 10th. I was wondering if there was a short term solution I can avail of then have the surgery when I return home so I don t interrupt my holiday ?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Sorry for the late reply since your flight was due for august 10th.
Hope my answer may still help you feel better.
A pilonidal cyst if not yet infected may be observed again for some time or drained.Initial treatment for an infected pilonidal cyst is a simple drainage under local anesthesia.Recurrence however is possible. It is only after it recurs that your Doctor may resort to extensive surgery to remove the cyst entirely.
The best would have been to take the simple management by drainage before travelling.Sure if it should recur, it will surely be after your holiday.
You may see your Doctor for s simple drainage if not yet done and observe.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
