Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I suffer from piles (sometimes it bleed, not always) for the last 10 years or so. i had observed that whenever I take fresh water fish, my stools become very watery. Anyways most of the time, when there is a problem with the piles my stomach will be upset. Any connection between these two?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history Of watery stools on consumption of fresh water, bleeding per rectum for last 10 years particularly when the stomach is upset. Watery stools on eating fresh water fish indicates that you have intolerance with fish proteins, that your intestines are not tolerating. There can be less intolerance to many other things that you take as food or beverages. This is the reason for upset stomach and resultant per-rectal bleeding. I would advise you the following: Tests of blood, urine and stool. Ultrasound of whole abdomen. Colonoscopy These will give exact diagnosis and plan for further management
