Psychologist 's  Response
Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. With most people, positive thinking requires some effort, whereas, negative thinking comes easily and often uninvited. Your father is in such a problem. The mind is neutral energy. The way you think determines whether the results are positive and beneficial, or negative and harmful. It is the same energy acting in different ways. There are several steps to avoid negative thoughts. Please consult a psychologist for your father and he will explain everything the method associated with it to cure negative thoughts. Take care.

Good luck.

Psychiatrist Dr. Ermira Qirinxhi's  Response
The first line of treatment in this case is cognitive behavior therapy. So your father should see a therapist. He can help your father with aproaching therapy, first by making him imagine about his fears then by aproaching his fears in real word. This must be done gradually. Also some antidepresive at low doses is useful.
