Suggest Treatment For Persistent Vertigo

6 days ago I had a episode of vertigo whilst doing yoga for over 1 hour. It occurred when I attempted to get into a sitting position after doing several floor exercises etc. I was able to get to my feet and I seemed to be ok. I spent all the following day on the bed sleeping on and off. My head felt a bit foggy. This foggy feeling cleared but it was only at night on going to bed that I realised I still had a problem with the vertigo when I turned to my side or sitting up. I am more mucousey than normal and a it congested in the nose and sinus. I was a bit foggy in head yesterday and again today. I have had this 12 months ago in March 2015 but it cleared after 2 days and I have not had problem since till last Saturday and that will be a week ongoing tomorrow. What are your thoughts. Do I need some antibiotics.? ???

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent vertigo Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like middle ear infection , labyrinthitis , anxiety disorder , panic attack , heart rhythm disorder , anemia and medication reaction or side-effect .

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI SCAN of ear and cervical column.

Vestibular rehabilitation can also be advised. Avoid sudden jerky neck movements , avoid bending forward and take sufficient rest. Also drink green tea thrice a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes,
