Suggest Treatment For Persistent Gastritis

hi.. i have gastritis for more than two weeks and i been taking an anti acid medicine.. but the pain still come and go.. especially at night.. and now some one told me that i should take duspatalin retart..and dompy because i vomit. i am taking those two medicine i mentioned for 3days.. i think i have ulcer now based on the symptoms i have.. sometimes i don t feel the pain in day time but when i press my stomach.. i feel severe pain.. what should i do now? do i still continue taking duspitalin and dompy.. although i feel quite better when i start drinking those medicine.. the pain still and most at night..

hi.
thanks for posting your query at HCM.

if you age>55; then fix an appointment for having an endoscopic examination.

if agei recommend to:

1. have a H.plori test ( Urea Breath Test - UBT) . If results are positive , you may need follow the eradication therapy
2. use a proton pump inhibitor ( omeprazole, pantoprazole) before breakfast for atleast one month.
3. avoid fat meals and use less salt
4. eat fresh fruits
5. eat dinner atleast 3 hours before going to bed
6. include plain yogurt in your meals
7. loose weight if overweight or obese
8. Avoid alcohol for atleast 2 to 4 weeks ( until medication being used) If you quit it completely, that would benefit alot
