Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough

Hi I ve had a persistent cough for over a week now. It gets worse at night. My diaphragm/ribs really hurts when I cough and to touch. I ve never experienced this in the past with previous infections. I also have pain in the left shoulder/lung. I had a punctured lung about 18months ago I also smoke approx 15 per day. Which I know isn t helping.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM. I think you are having infection either in lungs or in the pleura. I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get dkne chest x ray to rule out infection. And smoking is harmful to you. Better to quit as early as possible. Smoking leads to decrease in lung immunity, decrease in lung defence and worsening of bronchitis. So smoking is very very injurious for health especially for lungs. So I request to quit it.
