I am a 47 year old female , I hurt my back a year ago , off and on all year it hurt. but now for two weeks it has been nothing but pain, shooting , stabbing, when I cough it hurts. I had rectal surgery three years ago , I was constipated a week ago and I thought that is why my back hurt. it is hurting like it did after I got this surgery. ?

Hello. This isn't from your surgery or from constipation. It sounds like it's a disc problem in your lower back and you need to ask your doctor for an MRI scan of the lumbar spine to check for that. If that's the case, proper physical therapy can help with the pain
