Suggest Treatment For Persistent Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea

my husband has been experiencing addonimal pain and dirrehea on and off for 3 yrs now they say its divaticulus but i am not so sure since his father was diagnosed many years ago w/chron s disease when he was in his 50 s as is my husband now he keeps running to the bathroom when stomach gets gassy and crampy and has dark circles under his eyes, losing weight, and runs a low grade to 101 fever on and off please advise dm

Hi thanks for asking question.

If along with abdomen pain and diarrhea blood also present in stool then inflammatory bowel disease has to be ruled out by colonoscopy.

Second you have fever and weight loss so tuberculosis of intestine has to ruled out by colonoscopy and subsequent biopsy.

Stool examination done .If show pus cells bacterial infection might be cause and it is treated with antibiotic.

Colonoscopy may reveal any mass in intestine .If present biopsy taken for tumour diagnosis.

Take care and consult surgeon for colonoscopy ..
