Suggest Treatment For Patches Of Skin Discoloration

Hi I have a discolouration of my skin in patches, a round area on my abdomen and oval patches on my breasts which are the same on both sides of the body appearing to be symmetrical. They are not itchy, raised, dry, flaky or any other way different to the rest of my skin other than the colour. I have seen a dr who doesn t know what it is, says wrong shape for viral and doesn t feel right for any sort of dermitis or psoriasis. Any ideas?!

Hi,

It seems that most probably you may be having pityriasis alba. There may be hypoigmented patches on chest, abdomen, back or face. The disease remain asymptomatic except hypomelanosis. Exact cause is not known. It may be considered as superficial eczema. There may be triggering factor like worm infestation, bacterial infection anywhere in body, vitamin deficiencies, sun exposure..etc. You may be having atopic diathesis.

I would like to suggest as follow..

Take albendazole tab.
Apply tacrolimus 0.03% oint. on the patches.
Take vitamins and minerals containing capsules.
Avoid sun exposure.
Avoid soap bath.
Keep the skin moist.

I hope this would be helpful to you. Still..consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

Thanks.
