Suggest Treatment For Parotisis

My roommate was diagnosed with parotitis. She is definatly swollen and was given an antibiotic as treatment. She has Rhumatoid Arthritis and is getting ready to have spinal surgery. I have a heart condition and COPD and have never had mumps or Chicken Pox. Do we need to worry?

Hello

Parotitis along with rheumatoid arthritis can be due to a continuing auto immune dysfunction seen in these patients or can be due to another condition called as secondary sjogren syndrome and can also be due to an infection. You will need to ask your room mate to meet her doctor for confirming this and further treatment.please dont worry!

Thanks
