Suggest Treatment For Painful Swallowing

Earlier today my husband held in a sneeze, after he did it he instantly complained about his throat hurting. Its been a few hours now, and he went to eat something, he said he heard a "crack" and couldn't swallow. He is breathing, and talking fine, but says it hurts to swallow salivia. Is this serious?

Hi,
It could be viral flu.He may take warm water gargles in the morning with salt.
Tab.cetrizine , and tab ibuprofen can be taken for treatment.
If he gets fever then he may need antibiotics course fir 1 to 2 weeks.
Wish you best of health.
