Suggest Treatment For Painful Itchy Blister On Tip Of Coccyx

Hello Dr. Rynne. I have had an approximate 1/4-1/2 cm area at the very tip of my coccyx that has been appearing sometimes up to 1-2 times a year for the past 10-12 years. I am a 60 YO female. This area begins with itching and quickly turns to a fluid filled blister that is extremely painful. It lasts about a week then dries up without further problems. I had chicken pox as a child. Could this be shingles?

For painful itchy blister on tip of coccyx you can take some some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or doxycycline after an expert opinion along with cetrizine or avil for itching and redness. You can use betnovate-c cream or candid-b powder for local application. Take some pain killer like combiflam or ibugesic-plus for pain relief and to reduce the inflammation.
