Suggest Treatment For Painful Intercourse Along With Dry Skin

I have recently gone through the menopause and over the past couple of months have experienced dryness. Last weekend after very painful intercourse with my husband even after starting to use ky. I put this down to hormones but it developed into thrush which I have had treated, the irritation has now gone but I am left with a very painful burn when I urinate, it s not like cystitis, it s like all my skin outside and the opening of my vagina is affected, like the skin is already badly burned and the water just makes it 1000 times worse. I didn t know if I may have been allergic to the treatment so today haven t used the cream but it is no better.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear,
Sorry to hear such a story.
This can be from allergic reaction to the drug(but is usually associated with itching) or a friction burn. The later is more likely here.
Both these conditions need antibiotic support and keeping the area clean to prevent secondary infection.
Kindly see your doctor for a local examination and treatment accordingly.
Meanwhile keep the area clean and avoid sex till full recovery.
Wishing you a faster cure.
Thank you.
