Hi I am having two calluses on the ball of both my feet and callus beneath the big thumb on both feet. I am having this for the past 8 years or so. Recently I have developed a spur or painful callus on the heel corner of my right foot which causes a lot of pain and the surrounding region is swollen

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
A callus is a toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. They can be dissolved by using keratolytic agents containing salicylic acid.
Calcaneal sour (Heel spur) is a calcium deposit causing a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel bone.
You would require X-ray of the foot to diagnose weather the condition is callus or calcaneal spur.
Conservative treatments to overcome calcaneal spur include exercise, custom-made orthotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and corticosteroid injections. Surgical excision may be necessary if conservative treatment fails.
Kindly consult Orthopedic Surgeon in this regard for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
