Suggest Treatment For Painful Bump On Vagina And Frequent Urination

hello, i am a 19 year old female. i just recently discovered a dime sized bump on my outer genital area. it is very painful to the touch and tender, it is hard and there is no head on it. i have been urinating a lot more than usual lately and even after i urinate i still feel i have to go, i dont know if that has anything to do with this but i thought i should add it at least. i am sexually active but have been tested recently for STDs. i would greatly appreciate any help you can give me! thanks :)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it may be an infected hair follicle or an abscess (localized collection of pus).

Treatment may involve: (1) cleaning with an antiseptic
(2)apply warm compress to precipitate discharge
(3)an antibiotic would be needed
(4)it is possible, if it is an abscess then incision and drainage may be needed

I hope this helps
