Suggest Treatment For Painful Bruise And Vein On Wrist

I recently had an IV in my wrist for a procedure and a week later I played volleyball and the ball hit the vein which had the IV and it hurt bad, swelled and now is bruised all around it and hurts. I iced it. Should I see a doctor? How long should I wait to play again?
