Suggest Treatment For Painful Bartholin Cyst

i had a bartholin cyst about 5 months ago. It was swollen and painful. It raptured by itself and the pain went away. i went to see a gynae who prescribed antibiotics and painkillers to take care of it. Ever since i still see discharge when i put pressure on the area though there is no swelling or pain. I went back to the doctor for a swap test and it came back with no organisms found. I would like to know if there will be any complications or development of any conditions due to this. The doctor wants me to have an excision but i don t want to. Help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Usually, antibiotics and painkillers would take care of a bartholin's cyst.

Although it was ruptured, it is still very painful. Then incision is the final solution.

Apart pain, there's nothing to worry about.
Better follow your doctor's suggestions. You'll see that you won't feel pain anymore.
No complications, nothing worrisome would happen.
But it can be repeated in the future, in other locations.

All the best.
