Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 year old daughter is a competitive dancer. She has been complaining of pain in her second toe on her left foot for some time (about two weeks). It hurts on the bottom of her foot near the joint closet to the ball of her foot, making it difficult to walk when in mid stride or to go on her toes for ballet steps. She remembers stubbing her toes once but this one has not quit bothering her and the others are now ok. It seems to get better for a bit but will pop and the pain returns. Is it possibly a stress fracture that we should have checked and if so is there really anything that can be done?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, it is better to get done the x-ray just to rule out the fracture, and ask her to keep the leg in elevated position it may be infection in my opinion clinical examination would be enough to know the cause of pain till then she can be given Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day hope this information helps.
