Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that your friend has developed hematoma as a complication after anesthetic injections and as he was overdosed, there are chances that hematoma is the only reason that is causing the pain now in the nose.

I would advise you to apply ice pack over the area of pain over nose. Hematoma will resolve in some days on its own and no further treatment will be required.

As your friend went for 8 fillings at a time, it is possible that the filled teeth are sensitive or painful. It is also common after fillings and the sensitivity or pain should resolve within 15 days on its own.

As your friend is in major pain right now, he can take analgesic such as Ibuprofen 400 mg or Ketorolac 10 mg up to three times a day.

However, if your friend does not feel better in a week, he should consult the dentist again for the follow up of the procedure.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish your friend feels better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
