Suggest Treatment For Pain In Left Hip Radiating Down To Leg

My wife has been suffering severe joint pain for some time. It started in left hip several months ago, extending down left leg, resulting in her not being able to walk. Then her right elbow became very painful with movement or touch/. Subsequently over several months she experienced right thumb joint pain, with right elbow easing somewhat. Then right shoulder sever pain, slightly resolving, and then left severe shoulder pain. No on seems able to diagnois or give any indication of what is going on???

Hi there

What you are describing appears to be polyarthralgia and more precisely an inflammatory arthritis. What is your wife's age? What relieves the pain? Is she on any medication?
She has what is known as a flitting arthritis and should have her bloods checked to exclude rheumatoid/lupus etc.
I would do a Full blood count with Differentials , ANF /ANCA / Rheumatoid Factor / and a CRP.
I find this answer helpful

Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
