Suggest Treatment For Pain In Knee Joint Due To Arthritis
hii this is Pallavi. actually i want to ask that my mother is a arthritis patient..she is having severe pain in her knee joint as well as hand finger joints due to which she is not able to walk on the stairs. she is also having continuous swelling in her knee..she is at the last stage of arthritis as she has consulted from doctors. so can i know under what medical treatment she should go because she is really suffering from a severe pain and sometimes she is not even able to stand properly.. hoping for the favorable response Thank you.
Thank you Pallavi for the question.I would like to suggest that you give detailed investigation report if done any like blood tests, X rays, MRi urine test etc etc and also the medications she has recieved till date. with brief history provided by you it seems your mother has advanced osteo-arthritis of the knees.Physical therapy, fomentation, massage, knee supports/braces and pain medicines aree usual treatments, but in case none of are helping then she may be having problem which may need to be treated surgically There are few options depending on condition of knee, its internal damage, alignment etc consider talking to knee surgeon
You can take dose of methotrexate. I will advise dose 7.5mg weekly. You can start combination consulting your treating doctor
NSAIDs, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) are sometimes prescribed in severe cases. Newer biologics have role in RA.
There is good role of diet and achieve correction through it, for details you can directly contact on my profile http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-vaibhav-gandhi/63503
