Suggest Treatment For Pain In Back Above The Waist

Hi, I have been experiencing what I thought was hip pain. Went to hip specialist and x ray was negative. I have pain in waistline both sides that radiates to my back and sometimes pelvic area. I had a pelvic & trans vaginal ultrasound that came back normal. That was done because I had my menstrual cycle 3 times in one month. I am now starting experience sharp pain in my back (left side) just above waist. This pain has been going for over 3 months. Also, I have had diarrhea on & off for the last few month. It seems the pain worsens from physical activity, especially painful while walking.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the pain.
Back pain can be caused due to 3 reasons,
a.Spinal cause
b.Uterine cause
c.Renal cause
Considering that your Menstruation cycle has returned to normal now and that you have no burning sensation while urinating, seems like a case of Acute Lumbago.
An Xray will not show the Disc and the neurological status of the spine which is important as your have a radiating kind of pain towards your pelvis.
Kindly go ahead for an MRI of the Lumbar spine.
If the pathology is minimal on the MRI, then simple medicines like Tab.Aceclofenac 100mg and Thiocolchicoside 4mg at night for a week along with appropriate calcium supplements and light physiotherapy will do the trick.
Meanwhile, restrict bending forwards and do not sit for long hours on a PC or driving.
Good Luck and don't neglect !
