Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ankle After Twisting It

Hi I was running and twisted my ankle in a hole I felt some cracking as I fell it immediately swelled and was unable to walk on it I have been icing it for 2 days and it is still quite swallow and very bruised I can walk on it now with pain and a limp.. I previously fractured my fibula in the ankle around 5 years ago

Thanks for posting your query .

After going through your description of the injury I feel there might be a possibility of small fracture, so first thing you need to do is to get an xray of your ankle joint. This will tell us if there is any fracture or not though there is no much difference in treatment between a fracture and sprain but the amount and duration of the rest which you have to take is very much more in fracture when compared to a sprain so kindly get that done and revert back to me .

Also tie a crepe bandage around your ankle joint and give two to three days of absolute bed rest.
