Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Broken Rib Bone

Hi. I broke my first rib several years ago and it recently started hurting again. At the time of the injury the doctor said the bike was not properly lined but would not be reset because the surgery would hurt more than it would help. Is there anything that can be done?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.

Rib contusion is not always visible on X ray .You may need to do MRI or HRCT

You may consult physiotherapist for pain management. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
Local injection therapy may help after long years of injury.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. If you find this answer helpful do not forget to give rating at end of discussion.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
