Suggest Treatment For Pain Between The Ribs And Hip
I have pain right side between ribs and hip. Feels like 3 to 4 inches inside. Started 2.5 hours ago and on 1 to 10 pain scale is now 4-5. White male, 5 10 , 187lbs. Active 65 year old, no straining or muscle pain, colonoscopy ok 3 months ago. Feels like an area of pain about size of lime5 to 6 inches to right of spine/ navel. Going for some ibuprofen pain relief. No way can I sleep like this.

Ibuprofen will help in pain relief but here cause for right sided abdominal pain has to be ruled out by following work up.....
1.Physical and general examination
2.Check for tenderness
3.USG
4.x ray only if needed
5.Liver enzymes estimation and bilirubin if right hypochondrium tenderness present
6.CRP etc.....
It will your examination that decide which investigation needed and accordingly management ....
If colitis there and no improvement than colonoscopy like investigation might needed .
Advise : Just now consult physician for examination and accordingly get investigated
