Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling Of Thigh?

hello. i woke up this morning with upper thigh pain. it is in the front of the thigh, right below my stomach. it gives me a lot of pain, and it is hard for me to walk normally. tonight, i noticed that there is actually some light swelling. no redness or a bruise, but if you touch both thighs you can feel the swell. is this something i can fix with exercise or stretching, or should i let it take its natural course? could it be something serious??

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and swelling of thigh . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like soft tissue injury , fracture or hematoma . I would suggest you to keep icing on thigh , keep your leg elevated , take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan x-ray or physical examination . Doctor may drain hematoma and prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to dermatologist for allergic reaction of infection.
